Primary Division Spring 2022

Creative Movement (3 and 4 yr olds)

This 45-minute class meets once a week and captures the joy of dancing in the students. Using playful, creative stories and themes we begin basic ballet technique, conditioning and strengthening exercises, and free form and structured group movement activities. Ballet vocabulary and class etiquette are introduced in preparation for pre-ballet.

One class per week

PRE-BALLET

Pre-Ballet classes are one hour long and meet once a week. The class more closely follows the structure of a ballet technique class, but still allows for use of the students’ imaginations. The class begins with conditioning exercises worked around a creative theme to stretch and strengthen their muscles. Students will become familiar with the use of the ballet barre as well as ballet terminology, body placement, class etiquette, and musicality.

Pre-Ballet 1 (5 yr old or first-year student)

One class per week
$280 per semester

DRESS CODE:

Girls:

Girls in the Primary Division are required to wear the official BYB uniform leotard sold in our boutique. It is a light pink leotard embroidered with the BYB logo (available in a camisole and short sleeves), and it has a chiffon skirt attached. Also, light pink footed tights and pink leather ballet shoes are required. Hair must be worn in a tight bun for each class. For safety reasons please refrain from wearing jewelry to class.

Boys:

Boys should wear a white T-shirt, black tights or shorts, white socks, and black or white leather ballet shoes.

Elementary Division Spring 2022

Beginning A

Two Ballet classes per week
$500 per semester

 

Option 1:

    • Monday and Wednesday 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm

Option 2:

    • Monday and Wednesday 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Option 3:

    • Tuesday 6:30-7:30 and Friday 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm

Beginning B:

Two Ballet classes per week
$580 per semester

    • Monday and Wednesday 5:45 pm – 7:00 pm

Beginning C

Two Ballet Classes per week

Beginning Contemporary

Open to students in levels Beginning B, Beginning C, and Intermediate A

Beginner Boys Ballet

BYB is proud to offer three levels of boy classes.  Our Beginning Boy’s class is open to students enrolled in Beginning A and Beginning B.  Boys have to be enrolled in a level and may swap this class for another ballet class or add it to their schedule. Boys will do conditioning and special exercises for jumps and turns.

Dress Code

Girls:

Girls must wear the royal blue BYB embroidered uniform leotard (available in camisole, tank, and short sleeved) available in our boutique. Students must wear pink footed or convertible tights (seams are preferred), pink canvas or leather ballet shoes, and hair must be pulled back in a tight bun for all classes. For safety purposes, jewelry should be removed before entering class.

Boys:

Boys should wear a white uniformed T-shirt, black tights or shorts, white socks and black or white leather ballet shoes.

Intermediate Division Spring 2022

Intermediate A

Three Ballet classes per week
$800 per semester

Girls:

Advanced girls must wear the black BYB embroidered uniform leotard and Pre-Professional girls must wear the teal BYB embroidered uniform leotard (available in camisole and tank) available in our boutique. Students must wear pink convertible tights (seams are preferred), pink canvas ballet shoes, and hair must be pulled back in a tight bun for all classes.  For safely purposes, jewelry should be removed before entering class.

**On Saturdays, Levels Advanced and Pre-Professional are permitted to wear any style and color leotard for classes and rehearsals.

Boys:

Boys should wear the black BYB embroidered uniform T-shirt, black tights or shorts, white socks and black or white leather ballet shoes.

Adult Classes / Open Division Spring 2021

People of all ages are welcome at BYB. It is never too late to learn to dance. Ballet provides many benefits for all ages. Some adults take ballet because they want to exercise. Some take it because they love the art. Some take it to understand and to help their children with their dance education. Our adult classes are planned for the level of the attendees, so it might change from time to time. We love our adult students and encourage anyone to try it. Adults don’t have a dress code.

ADULT BALLET

$15 per class or $125 class card (10 classes)

Tuesday 8:00 pm – 9:15 pm

There is no specific dress code for Adult classes. Please wear comfortable clothing that will not restrict movement in any way. Adults may wear dancewear or exercise attire if they wish. Ballet shoes are recommended.

ADULT CONDITIONING

$12 per class or $100 class card (10 classes)

Friday 9:00 am – 10:00 am

This will be a combination of yoga, ballet, pilates, and exercises design to tone and strengthen women or men of any physical condition. Bring a yoga mat, a theraband (or resistance band), a water bottle, and comfortable clothing.

OPEN CONTEMPORARY CLASSES

$160 per Semester

  • Beginning Contemporary (Ages 8-11): Thursday 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm
  • Intermediate Contemporary (Ages 10 & up w/previous experience): Tuesday 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm
