Bluegrass Youth Ballet is seeking an experienced part-time ballet instructor to join our faculty beginning August 2026.

Bluegrass Youth Ballet is a non-profit organization whose mission is to engage and inspire youth by providing accessibility to the art of dance throughout our community. We are looking for a passionate educator who enjoys working with young children and believes in the transformative power of the arts.

This position focuses primarily on teaching Primary and Elementary level students, including community outreach programs outside of BYB’s studios.

Responsibilities

• Teach classes as assigned by the Director

• Take attendance and maintain class records

• Communicate professionally with the Director and families as needed

• Plan and prepare classes based on BYB’s syllabus and students’ developmental needs

• Assist with rehearsals and productions, or lead rehearsals when necessary

• Participate in summer workshops and classes

• Help create a positive, nurturing, structured, and creative learning environment

Schedule

• Approximately 8–10 hours per week during the Fall and Spring semesters

Compensation & Start Date

• $30–$40 per hour, depending on experience

• Position begins August 2026

Qualifications

• Strong training and foundation in classical ballet

• Minimum of 4 years teaching experience with children ages 3–10

• Ability to create engaging, imaginative, and well-structured classes

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
