Development & Marketing Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and evaluate all fundraising campaigns and activities in conjunction with the Board of Directors and the Executive Director
  • Develop, update, and implement a strategic plan for each ballet season, as well as five- and ten-year long-term range plans
  • Identify and steward prospective donors, both corporate and individual
  • Build and maintain a donor database, and use prospect research tools to build donor relationships
  • Recruit and train fundraising staff and event volunteers
  • Manage and oversee all fundraising events, including any volunteer staff
  • Generate development materials such as grant proposals and reporting
  • Research and stay on top of fundraising trends in the non-profit community
  • Create marketing materials in line with the general mission and message for each season
  • Work with BYB’s Director and others to implement a consistent message for the organization and its needs
  • Create and maintain our sponsorship package
  • Communicate with donors and staff in person and via email, phone, and social media; answer all inquiries promptly
  • Coordinate and engage in community outreach activities and initiatives under the guidance of the Executive Director

Job Description

  • Part-time (20-30 hours per week); transition to full-time position possible
  • Hourly pay negotiable
  • It may be partially remote – the number of hours required in-office to be discussed and set by the Executive Director

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Previous experience with development, marketing, and donor recruitment strongly recommended
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Time management and flexibility with job duties
  • Expertise with fundraising activities, tools, and software
  • Creative, self-starter attitude
